Function

Sometimes, apparently, only a very boring word can be found to describe something really great. Lexicon: "Functional textiles are garments and home textiles made of fibers, yarns, fabrics, woven fabrics providing extra functional value". The basis of our work is such a functional textile - wool! The added value for you? Wool can store up to 30 percent of its own weight in moisture without appearing wet and is water repellent to a certain extent. Dirt and odors also have a poor chance. The fiber structure of wool makes it difficult for perspiration and bacteria to take hold. In addition, wool is naturally and permanently antibacterial: the protein keratin in the wool fiber diligently breaks down bacteria. All by itself! And wool can do one more amazing thing: It cleans itself. The core of the wool fiber consists of two cell types that are able to absorb different amounts of moisture. The cells swell to different degrees and keep rubbing against each other - the fiber constantly cleans itself.

This is exactly why clothes made of wool do not need to be washed often. Usually it is enough to air out the garment in damp weather. All in all, these are wool properties that we make the most of. With our passion for wild wool, our wool knowledge and our work, we make sure that a sustainable resource finds its way back onto the fashion stage. Our standards for our garments and home textiles are high - from sourcing high-quality materials to design to fair production in small manufactories. No, unfortunately we can't think of a better word than "functional textile" either. But now you know why we love to work with our wild wool. Because there is nothing better.
